Chemfix - 701
Polymer Modified Tile Adhesive
Description
CHEMFIX 701 is a factory blended, cementitious, polymer-modified tile adhesive designed for high bond strength and reduced
vertical slip. It is supplied as a ready-to-use dry powder requiring only clean water on site.
Recommended Uses
• Interior and exterior fixing of ceramic, porcelain, terrazzo, marble and natural stone tiles.
• Suitable for walls and floors, bathrooms, kitchens, wet areas, balconies and general facade applications.
• Suitable substrates include concrete, cement-sand screeds, cement renders, blockwork and existing sound cementitious surfaces.
• For highly deformable substrates, heavy vibration, or special tiles, consult Chemfix Technical Department for the correct system and primer.
• Improved cementitious adhesive with reduced slip.
• High polymer modification for strong adhesion and durability.
• Excellent workability, easy trowelling and good sag resistance on wall applications.
• Water resistant after curing and suitable for wet-service areas.
• Ready for use: add clean water only.

• Use clean cool water only. Add 4.8-5.2 liters of water into a clean pail for each 20 kg bag.
• Add powder gradually while mixing with a slow-speed drill and paddle until a smooth, lump-free paste is obtained.
• Allow the mix to stand for 5 minutes, then remix briefly before use.
• Substrate must be sound, clean, dimensionally stable and free from dust, laitance, oil, grease, curing compound, paint or loose material.
• Dampen highly absorbent cementitious substrates if required, but avoid standing water.
• Apply adhesive with a suitable notched trowel. Comb adhesive in one direction and fix tiles while the adhesive is fresh.
• For large-format tiles, exterior areas, wet areas or heavy-duty applications, apply adhesive to both substrate and tile back to achieve full coverage.
• Press tiles firmly with a slight twisting motion. Check periodically that full contact is achieved.
• Remove excess adhesive from joints and tile face before hardening. Leave minimum 24 hours before grouting.

Coverage depends on substrate flatness, tile back profile, trowel angle and required contact area.
• Do not apply below +5 deg C or above +35 deg C, or in direct hot sun without proper protection.
• Do not apply over metal, painted surfaces, weak gypsum plaster, wood, plastic, bitumen or unstable substrates without an approved primer/system.
• Movement joints must be provided according to project requirements and good tiling practice.
• For swimming pools, submerged areas, special stone, large-format tiles or deformable substrates, consult Chemfix Technical Department.
• Store bags off the ground, under shade, in dry conditions and protected from moisture.
• Contains cement and may cause skin/eye irritation. Wear gloves, mask and eye protection.
• In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical advice if irritation persists.
